Dear Mary - we're excited to announce that SMARCA's Board of Directors recently approved a budget that includes paying your company's annual SMACNA dues (note SMARCA is the local association and SMACNA is the national association). So if you are in a contract area that includes hourly contributions to the national industry fund (i.e. Industry Fund of the United States), we will now pay the $200 SMACNA dues that will provide your company a wealth of technical and other resources.
To kick-off this new benefit, we're hosting a short SMACNA technical seminar and a happy hour with SMACNA representatives.
Eli Howard, SMACNA's Executive Director of Technical Services and Research, will discuss the recently updated Fire Smoke Damper Manual (6th Edition), which covers specification, installation, and testing/maintenance in accordance with the Model Building Codes. He'll also give an update on the most recent SMACNA Technical Resource bulletins on Midwest Panel Tie Rods, Live Loads for Exterior Ductwork and Type 1 Kitchen Grease Ducts.
After the presentation, Tony Kocurek, SMACNA's President and Owner of Energy Balance & Integration in Albuquerque, will talk about SMACNA benefits to contractors and how he uses these benefits to make his company more competitive.
Please send this email to anyone in your company who would enjoy learning about SMACNA's benefits and bring back these resources to your company. Encourage a group of your employees to attend this event to meet Eli & Tony, and learn how SMACNA can help your team save time and money.
Please RSVP to ashley@smarca.com to help give us a good headcount. We hope to see you there!
John Quarnstrom & Blake Parsons
P.S. Note Eli can sign any paperwork necessary if you need CE/PDH credits.
