SMARCA Annual Meeting

The SMARCA Annual Meeting is held every year as required by our Articles and Bylaws. The Annual Meeting agenda will include the following:

• President’s Report;
• Review of the financial status of SMARCA;
• Recap of the hours for all of our divisions;
• Update on fringe benefit funds;
•  Labor Report;
• 2024 contract settlements and 2025 contract openings; and
• Future SMARCA Events.
• Nominations for Chapter Councilor.  The Chapter Councilor serves on the SMARCA Board of Directors and represents the Chapter at two SMACNA Council Meetings and one Central States Coalition Meeting per year.  The Chapter Councilor is elected to a four-year term and there are no term limits.  The Chapter Councilor must be a member of SMACNA.  The current Chapter Councilor is Jason Hanson, Dakota Metal Fabrication.'

Following the Annual Meeting, there will be a meeting for All Metro Area Contractors.  The agenda will include:

• Review of Sick & Safe Time law;
• Discussion of contractor drug testing policies;
• Preview of 2026 Paid Family Medical Leave;
• Preparation for opening of Metro Architectural and Residential Labor Agreements;
• Board of Director Nominations

2. Metro Roofing & Architectural Sheet Metal Division
3. Metro Specialty & Manufacturing Sheet Metal Division

Directors are elected to a two year term and are limited to two consecutive terms.

Brian Schutz, Gilbert Mechanical, is the current Largest 10 Commercial Sheet Metal Division Director.  Brian has served one term and is eligible for nomination and election.

Brian Berwald, Berwald Roofing & Sheet Metal is the current Roofing & Architectural Sheet Metal Division Director.  Brian is completing his second term on the Board and is not eligible to run again.

Jessie Hartsuiker, Sheet Metal Connectors, is the current Specialty & Manufacturing Sheet Metal Division Director.  Jessie has served one term and is eligible for nomination and election.

If you are interested in serving on the SMARCA Board of Directors, please attend this meeting. If you are unable to attend and would like to be on the ballot, please arrange for someone to nominate you at this meeting. An online election will take place following the meeting. Only members of SMARCA may nominate, vote, and serve on the Board of Directors.
